It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Donald Sommer of Round Rock, Texas, born in Ellinger, Texas, who passed away on March 22, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Sommer and Rosie Sommer. He is survived by: his wife Bess Sommer of Round Rock, TX; his children, Sheryl Morsman (Dorman) of Oklahoma City, OK, Karen Atkins (Terry) of Clifton, TX, Barbara Weden (David) of Buda, TX and Bruce Sommer (Karman) of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Erica Weden, Nathaniel Atkins, Justin Weden, John A. Sommer, Matthew Sommer and Rebecca Sommer; and his great grandchildren, Margaret Weden and Fletcher Weden.

In-lieu of flowers, memorials in John's honor may be made to St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 606 W 15th Street, Austin, TX or Texas Lutheran University.
