He was predeceased by: his father Harold Ivan; his grandparents, George, Maude Hinkley Dennis, Roy and Henrietta Faught; his parent Lera Elizabeth Faught Dennis (Faught); his stepmother Gladys Thorp Dennis; his former wife Ellen Joyce Armstrong Dennis; his stepsister Sylvia Thorp Humble; and his brothers-in-law, Ollie O. Barrier and Tom Colley.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Lenice Hughes Dennis of Sinton; his children, Joy Lynn Dennis, Michael David Dennis, Jr., Captain Richard D. Dennis (US Army) and Dr. Allen Dennis (Amanda); his grandchildren, Michael Emery, Patience Putaski (Stephen), Erin, Miah Dennis, Lydia, Josiah, Jonah, Lilly, Benjamin Bede, Mary, Ruby Rose Dennis and Colin Dennis; his siblings, Patricia Arnold (Tommy Arnold), Lisa Cook, Jenny Colley (Carol Douglass), Charles Thorp (Laura) and Chris Miller; and his brother-in-law Leonard Humble.
