He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Whitley and Francis Brashear; his stepfather Harold Mann; his siblings, Helen Leftwich, Leslie "Buddy" Whitley and Laverne Whitley; and his granddaughter Echko Whitefield.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Whitley; his sister Kay Rascoe; his children, David (Christina), Kristen Whitley, Kelly (Karina), Tammy (Chuck Williams), Terri Whitefield and Mitchell "Bubba" (Pat Whitefield); and his pet Bo. He is also survived by thirty-one grandkids.
