He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Andress McCombs and Ollie McCombs; his wife Vera Ellen; his son Joe Alan McCombs; and his sisters, Geraldine Hawkins (Kenneth) and Frances Newton (Lehman).
He is survived by: his daughters, Lou Klepper (Frankie) of Harper, Kathy Jo McCombs Smartt of Sweetwater and Tina Blair (Martin) of Mason; his granddaughters, Tiffany Klepper, Tara Guevara (John) and Paige Durate (Jeremy); his great grandchildren, Grayson Guevera, Dallas, Blair Duarte, Creagh and Cambell Smartt; and his parents-in-law, Alvin and Vera Gruben. He is also survived by two sisters, three daughters and three granddaughters.
Because of the pandemic, a private family graveside service will be held at Belvieu Cemetery officiated by Rev. Tony Gruben.
