He is survived by: his wife Karen Garrett Smith; his children, Jared Smith, Rique'Smith and Jole; his grandchildren, Jaleel Broden, Aubrie Blaylock and Jaliyah Broden; his siblings, Mary Batiste (Peter), Sheila Sharper (late Ricky) and Earl Smith Jr. (Yvonne); and his sister-in-law Phyllis Oubre (late Donald).
