We bid farewell to Van Joe Upton of Rosenberg, Texas, born in Sweetwater, Tennessee, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 26, 2024 at the age of 78. Van Joe touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Roy McBee Sr. and Otha Rhea McGaughey; his stepfather Robert McGaughey; his in-laws, Allen and Elizabeth Albrecht; his uncle William Upton; his brother-in-law Phil Dunn; and his nephew Cory McGaughey.

He is survived by: his wife Sherry Upton; his children, Sonya Moreland, Rhonda Taylor (Chris), Jeffrey Upton (Brittany) and Kevin Michael Upton (Francesca); his siblings, Robert McGaughey, Connie Dunn, Vickie Bragg, Yvonne Jones, Sheila Glover, William Roy McBee Jr., Barry McBee and Linda McBee Leverett; and his brother-in-law Randy Albrecht (Brenda). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
