He was predeceased by: his parents, Eusebio Cortez and Ednedina Castillo Cortez. He is survived by: his wife Mary Rosalyn Beard; his sister Janie Shoemaker of Dallas; his children, Joseph Cortez (April) of San Angelo, Timothy Cortez of Denver, Colorado, Michelle Miller (Chuck) of DeLeon, Texas, Christopher Cortez and Martin Cortez (Belinda) of Austin; his grandchildren, Shannon Tate (Derek) of Georgetown, Jonathan Cortez of Austin, Justin Cortez of Belton, Charles Miller of Austin, Skyllar Bowdy of San Angelo, Javier Sauceda of Austin, Micaela Miller of DeLeon and Billy Cortez of San Angelo; and his great grandchildren, Jaxson and Kyson Tate of Georgetown. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
