He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nicholas Scheffer and Frieda Catherine Scheffer (Zipperlen); and his siblings, Ruth Sanders, Anita Scheffer, Ruben Scheffer, Leonard Scheffer and Willie Scheffer.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Scheffer; his daughter Brenda Rose; his cousin Martha White; his siblings-in-law, Alan Abel (Audrey) and Carol Emley (Dave); his grandchildren, Zerlentria Shonta Moore, Andrew Calvin Moore Jr. and Julisa Jackson; his great grandchildren, James Roughley and Jamiaha Roughley; and his close friends, Matt, Joell Johnson, Bob, Diane Hoyle, Greg Tindell, Tom Schauer, Barry Sharp, Wade and Loreth Jackson. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
