Thornton and Ada Ross Thornton; his wife Helen Thornton; his children, William Shen Thornton and Amellia Crawford of Lott; and his grandchildren, Michael Burton of Lott, Danielle Jaffers of Temple and Jessica Williams of Lott. He was also cherished by 8 great grandchildren.
