He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Ballard and Bessie Chambers Ballard; and his siblings, Eugene, Paul Ballard, Polly Renfro and Joyce Ballard.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Ballard of Rosebud; his children, Brad Ballard (Amy) of Rosebud, Beau Ballard (Erica) of Robinson and Crystal Ballard of Corpus Christi; his brother Tom Ballard of Winsted; and his grandchildren, Brooklyn Ballard, Bella Ballard, Elijah Ballard, Sadie Ballard and Jack Ballard.
