She was predeceased by: her parent Leslie "Cotton" Hill (Riddle); and her sisters, Patsy Fay Sebek, Alice Mae Hill and Ruby Hill Jungmann. She is survived by: her husband Allen James Mertz of Rogers; and her children, Debbie Mertz Grieder (Richard Brown) of New Braunfels, Kevin Mertz (Pattie) of Holland and Judy Lynn Mertz Nichols (Steven) of Rogers, Texas.. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's name to the First Baptist Church of Rogers.
