She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Arthur and Lois Kathleen Swanzy (Wright); her sons, Tilman Jackson Prater III and Arthur Floyd Prater; her brother Paul Swanzy; her sister-in-law Mary Swanzy; and her granddaughter Kristie Prater Morehouse.
She is survived by: her children, Judy Sharon Prater-Gibson (John), Teresa Jane Bassett, Jean Ann Byers (Allen), William "Willie" Paul Prater (Cheryl), Thomas "Tom" Allen Prater (Janet), Joseph "Joe" Frank Prater, Timothy "Tim" James Prater (Becky) and Albert Lindsey Prater (Tammy); her daughter-in-law Carol Prater; her sister Martha O'Quinn; and her grandsons, Dustin Prater, Jeffery Prater, Ryan Gibson, Dexter Prater, Clayton Prater, Zachary Bassett and Matt Blocker. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the East Highway Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Highway Baptist Church or Greathouse Cemetery.
