He was predeceased by : his father Walter Day. He is survived by : his mother Artie Fay Day of Roganville, Texas; his children, Taylor Day of Nacogdoches, Dalton Day of Huntsville, Mathew Byerly of Huntsville, Texas and Courtney Day (Jeffery Harkey); and his siblings, Randy (Christy Day) and Dianna (Mont Hough). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
