She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Oakley and Barbara Oakley; and her siblings, Stephen Oakley and Jennifer Oakley. She is survived by: her husband Curtis Ray Nixon; her children, Gary Nixon (Bethany) and Valerie Schefer (Evandro); her grandchildren, Gabriel Schefer, Chloe Schefer and Hailey Nixon; her sister Suzan McGee; and her pets, Sofi, Gigi and Ana.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Laurel Oaks Funeral Home (12649 Lake June Rd, Mesquite, TX 75180). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Laurel Oaks Memorial Park (12649 Lake June Rd, Mesquite, TX 75180).
