He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Herschap and Lois Herschap; his brothers, Pete Jr. Herschap and Larry "Buff" Herschap; and his son Richard Donald Herschap.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Hagan Herschap; his son Dustin Leon Herschap (Tricia Fry Herschap); his grandchildren, Henli Dee and Hallie Don of Grandpa's Girls; and his siblings, Maurice "Moose" Herschap and Joan Herschap Gorbet (Jon). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
