He was predeceased by: his parents, Higinio Torres and Felicita Torres (Andrea); his siblings, Natalia, Juanita, Petra, Facundo, Trinidad, Jose Angel and Jose Higinio; his daughter Maria Juanita; and his grandson Zachary Cass Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Andrea Zavala Torres; his granddaughter Holly Waxman; his children, Mary Ellen Schmidt (Jeff) of Corpus Christi, Charlie Torres (Carmen) of Pflugerville, Patricia Torres of Rockport, Janie Smith of Rockport and Jose Angel Torres of Corpus Christi, Texas.; his grandchildren, Patrick, Michael, Andrew, John, Valerie, Nicolas, Steven and Jasmine; and his great grandchildren, Ryan, Mia, John, Audrey, Emily, Lola, Julian, Maria, Cristian, Nicolas Beau, Isabel and Hunter.
