We are sad to announce that on August 7, 2024, at the age of 91, Murray Tarkington (Rockport, Texas), born in Cuero, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his former wife Kaye Morganroth Tarkington; his parents, Powis Franklin Tarkington and Irene Adair Tarkington; and his brother Powis Tarkington, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Lauren Tarkington, Lisa Piland (Todd) and Shelley Tarkington (April); his wife Frances Scott Tarkington; his stepchild Courtney Nyhuis (Paul); his children-in-law, Todd Piland and April Tarkington; his grandchildren, Paige Piland Griffin (Ryan), Cates Piland Vanham (Riley), Grant Piland (Morgan), Huntley Tarkington, Levi Tarkington, Sean Gilleran (Linda), Kirk Gilleran and Hunter Nyhuis; his great grandchildren, Adair Griffin, Lila Griffin, Everett Griffin, Riley Vanham, Ava Vanham, Weston Piland and Carter Piland; and his friends, Lias B. Steen (Bubba), Bert Stubbs (Boyd), Frank Henderson, Munson Smith, Bill Keyworth and Rockport. He is also survived by His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
