He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold McKinney and Martha McKinney; his wife Roberta "Bert" Louise McKinney; his daughter-in-law Jan Wilson McKinney of San Antonio, Texas; his grandsons, Mark and Scott McKinney of San Antonio, Texas; and his siblings, Jess McKinney of Claremore, Oklahoma and Dee Vance of Stuart. He was also cherished by nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
