He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Sr. Hooper and Bertha Hooper (Moss); his wife Ida "Sue" Hooper (Waits); his siblings, Dorothy Girndt, Johnny Lee Hooper and Dan Hooper, Jr.; and his sons, John William Hooper and Kenneth Wayne Hooper.
He is survived by: his children, Norma Sue Nance (Kenny) of Rock Island and Scott Hooper (Denise) of El Campo; his brother-in-law Harold Waits (Paula) of Houston; his grandchildren, Hailey Noska, Cody Nance, Ashley Terrell, Cory Hooper, Crystal Whisnant, Sharon Hippensteel and Amanda Hooper; and his close friends, Billy Mayes, Larry Moss and George Riley. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
