He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco, Sr. Cantu and Eulalia "Lala" Cantu (Aguilar); his son Rudy Cantu; and his siblings, Roy Cantu, Buddy Cantu, Frank Cantu, Jr. and Elba Cantu.
He is survived by: his children, Roland Cantu, Jr. of Sweetwater, Patrick Cantu of Sweetwater, Chris Cantu of Stephenville, Texas, Christi Alvarez of Abilene and Priscilla Flores of Snyder, Texas; his great grandchildren, Myles and Kingston; and his siblings, Solia Gutierrez of Sweetwater, Macy Gutierrez of Snyder, Myra Pena of San Antonio, Delia Ruiz of Sweetwater, Texas, Arthur Cantu of Stamford, Adam Cantu of Sweetwater and Lupe Cantu of Sweetwater, Texas.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
