He was predeceased by: his father Pablo G. Hernandez. He is survived by: his mother Margarita Benavidez of Houston, Texas; his wife Rosie Hernandez; his children, John Edward, Christopher of Robstown, Texas and Stephanie Hernandez; his grandsons, Sam and Ethan Hernandez of Pleasanton, Texas.; his sister Elizabeth "Chavela" Leal; his brother-in-law Luciano "Lou" Leal; his stepmother Josie Hernandez; his sisters, Patsy Sanchez (Rene) and Thelma Trejo (Robert) of Houston, Texas; his half-siblings, Pablo Hernandez (Lilian) of Sacramento, Ben Hernandez (Veronica) of Marysville, Washington and Polly Yzaguirre; his mother-in-law Lupita Betancourt (Gilbert); his brother-in-law Augustin Betancourt; his nieces, Lena Marie Leal of Miami and Andrea Johnson (Curtis); his nephew Kevin Lou Leal of San Francisco, California; and also, Jose H. and Leonor C. Benavidez. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved so dearly; as well as, many friends.
Due to Covid-19, a private Rosary will be held and he will be laid to rest at Seaside Memorial Park.
