He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Vardeman and Epsie Vardeman (Jones); his wife Hazel Ferrell Vardeman; his brother Garnet Vardeman; his sister-in-law Jean Trussell Vardeman; and his sister Dixie Vardeman Wilson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice Turk (Rick), Karen Neal (Chuck) and Krisanna Byars (Allyn); his half-brother David Alton Vardeman; and his sister-in-law Louise Ferrell Woodall. He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations in Gene's memory be made to Fairview Cemetery, P.O. Box 427, Hubbard, Texas 76648.
