He was predeceased by: his parents, Dora Mae and Smith; his niece Gina Marie Kowis; and his brother-in-law Sonny Johnson. He is survived by: his sisters, Nell Thornton (Doyle Thornton) and Virginia Hooper; his nieces, Lavita Wise (James Lewis), Terri Kirby (Howard Kirby) and Karan Lee Barrera; and his nephew Richard Kowis. He is also survived by many special friends and extended family.
