He was predeceased by: his wife Consuelo Martinez; his mother Mary Martinez; his siblings, Cruz Martinez and Gloria Villarreal; and his nephew Carlos Vargas.
He is survived by: his sister Rose Mary Vargas; and his children, Jeff Vasquez, Yvonne Long, Brenda Garza, Mary Martinez and Robert Martinez Jr.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
