She was predeceased by: her husband Alonzo Alexander Gears; and her brothers, Boyd Rucker and Howard Rucker. She is survived by: her children, Lesley Gears and Anthony Gears (Brenda); her siblings, Catherine Spencer (William), James Rucker (Novella), Kenneth Rucker (Linda) and Dillon Rucker; and her grandchildren, Khelley Gears, Alonzo Gears, Kymberly Gears, Teddy Giles and Isaiah Gears.
