He was predeceased by: his wife Laverne; and his children, Don Brent and Linda Diane. He is survived by: his children, Youth Ministries, Long Ave and River Oaks; his parents, Willis Jep Dickey and Gladys Morene Chandler; his son Greg; his daughter-in-law Carol; his grandchildren, Amy Dickey of Dallas and Grant Dickey of Fort Worth; and his sister Shirley Kuhn (Doug) of Richland Hills. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
