He was predeceased by: his wife Bessie; his parents, Viola Turner (Gerald Abbott) and Hazel Turner; his sister Annie Mary Senter; and his daughter Nina Kay Abbott.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald Abbott (Barbara) of Cleburne and Nancy Martin (Stuart) of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Stephanie Nelson (Chris), Kyle Martin (Katie) and Skeete Abbott (Rebekah); and his great grandchildren, Ainsley, Brody, Jocelyn, Macy, Olivia and Alexa.
