He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruperto Villarreal and Marcela Gutierrez Saldivar. He is survived by: his wife Maria Bertha Villarreal; and his children, Jose I. Villarreal, Imelda Rolanda Lopez, Rogelio Villarreal, Dageberto Villarreal, Jesus Villarreal, Raul Villarreal, Maria Bertha Villarreal and Diana Lydia Lopez. He is also survived by his 17 grand-children; and 16 great-grand-children also numerous nieces;nephews.
