He is survived by: his daughter Sylvia R Avila (Mario Avila); his grandchildren, Rubi M. Avila, Kali M. Avila and Mario A. Avila; and his siblings, Gloria Smith (Roel Smith), Gracie Gonzalez, Lorene Villareal and Jorge Peña (Leticia Peña). He is also survived by three great-granddaughters.
