He was predeceased by: his father Ramon Chapa. He is survived by: his mother Blanca Alicia Saenz Chapa; his wife Rosa Garza Chapa; and his children, Jose Angel Chapa (Norma Alicia), Guadalupe Chapa Jr. (Stephanie) and Emilia Chapa. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
