It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hortencia Lopez of Rio Grande City, Texas, who passed away on January 1, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ramon Lopez and Aurora Lopez; and her sister Amada Garcia (Ernesto). She is survived by: her siblings, Amelia Hickman (Lynusꝉ) and Enrique Lopez (Ninfa).

In 1992, Hope Masonic Lodge No.471 of Rio Grande City presented the prestigiousCommunity Leader Award to Hortencia for her outstanding unselfish contributions to the community. This award was presented to recognize outstanding individuals who are non-Mason for their contribution to society.
