He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobby Murphey of Mexia, Texas. and Darlene Archer (Jerry) of Mexia, Texas.; his grandparents, Donald (Pookie), Mary Ann Shamblin, Irene Murphey, John Ray and Margaret Archer; and his aunts, Doris Shamblin and Wanda McKinney.

He is survived by: his wife Angelle; his children, Raven Burkhart (Ryan), Seth Norris and Rylie Murphey; his grandchildren, Sophia Norris and Cayden Burkhart; his pet Nina; his siblings, Robert Murphey, Megan Beldin (Danny), Michael Murphey, Jami Archer and Matthew Murphey; and his nieces and nephews, Amber Maddox (Grady), Ashley Murphey, Bryce Sterling, Alexis Beldin, Rory Murphey, Daniel Beldin, David Murphey, Parker Murphey and Rhyan Archer-Good. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nieces/nephews.

“John was a kind, respectful, intelligent and wise man. It was a pleasure working with him on a number of Health projects at Woodcreek. He spoke frequently of his family, lovingly, especially of his wife and youngest. John is dearly missed. I wish words could somehow ease your sadness, but in our hearts we know the most they do is simply to tell you how much we care. In this difficult time, may peace and love surround each of you!
