He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruno Ewen Hail and Virginia Lee Smith Hail; his sisters, Bonnie Fowler and Jacqueline Pate; and his nephew Charles Pate.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Georgia Moreau (Mike), James Hail (Joy), Melissa Derbyshire and Gina McPherson (Matt); and his sister Martha Gray. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; one great grand-daughter.
