He was predeceased by: his parent Lanford McKinley (Gussie Marion Fox Slone); and his brothers, Robert Edwin Slone and Wayne Todhunter Slone. He is survived by: his wife Tommye Clements Slone; his children, Bruce Slone (Elise Slone) and Brenda Coats (Douglas Coats); his sister Barbara Crotts (Mike Crotts); and his grandchildren, Amber Manes (Carl Manes), Adam Slone, Matthew Jungers (Blair Mockler), Shelby Jungers, Madeline Woelfel, Katherine Huck (Barron Huck), Tyler Coats (Whitney), Travis Coats and Kaci Gibson (Tyler Gibson). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and 14 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in his memory to First Baptist Church.
