He was predeceased by: his parents, William Monroe Stearns and Martha Mancil Stearns; and his sister Mary Francis Butts. He is survived by: his brother James M. Stearns (DeAnn Lynn) of Richmond, Texas; and his nieces and nephews, Steve Kelly, Jason Butts, Jason Mollet, Leanne Walker, LIz Kendrick, Kim Douglas, Karen Zigler and Jennifer Mayo.
