He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerrel Ishmul Martin and Clara "Mimi" Martin (Williams); and his grandparents, William Earl Martin, Eula Mae Martin (Ramer), John Thomas Williams and Sarah Ann Williams (Wilson).
He is survived by: his great grandchild David; his husband Gary G. Kindley; his brother Jerry Martin (Mary) of Allen, TX; his nieces, Stephanie Martin Griffith (Chris) of Allen, TX and Maggie Martin Cargile (Ross); his nephew Brian Martin (Stephanie Morrow) of Allen, TX; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ashlyn Griffith, Avery Griffith, Hudson Martin, Payton Martin, Cayson Martin, Abbie Cargile and Sophia Cargile; his sister-in-law Judy Kindley Pacatte of Fort Worth, TX; his stepsons, David Kindley (Daniela) of Corpus Christi, TX and John Kindley of Woodland Park, CO; his stepgranddaughter Daphne Kindley; his cousins, Allen Meeler of Arkansas, Roger Meeler of Arkansas, Amy Martin of Arkansas, Billy Cheek of Arkansas, Danny Cheek of Arkansas and Becky Maynard of Brownwood, TX; his pet Benson; his aunts and uncles, Lock Williams, Cyril Meeler, Sgt. Harold Dean Martin, Whit May, Pauline Meeler and Irene May; his cousins, Janet Meeler, Wanda Cheek Brown, Rita Garrison and Ricky Martin; his pet Christie; and also Daniela.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ and designated for the "Martin-Kindley Endowment Fund.".
