He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Patty" Sherrod; his children, Christopher Sherrod (Brenda) of Plano, Julianne Sherrod (Steve Grill) of Colorado Springs, CO, Margaret La Barba and Gina Hlavaty (Bryan) of Dallas; his grandchildren, Virginia, Natalie, Samuel, Calliope and Sean; and his siblings, Peter Stewart Sherrod of Plano, Michael Sherrod (Melissa) of Fort Worth and Katie Sherrod of Fort Worth.
