He was predeceased by: his parents, Annabelle Broussard Garner and Robert Herman Garner, Jr.; and his son Robert Herman Garner IV. He is survived by: his wife Penny E. Garner; his daughters, Nicole M. Garner and Elizabeth A. Seymour (James); his grandchildren, Logan and Lorelei; his stepdaughter Casey E. Shaw; his sisters, Constance A. Newsome (Jim), Patricia L and O'Grady (Tim); his mother-in-law Eva Nell Montgomery; his brothers-in-law, Norman E. Montgomery (Cyndi) and Ronnie W. Montgomery (Joyce); and his brother David L. Steed.
