He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Fontenot and Alma Gobert; his son John Wade Fontenot; and his siblings, Alvin Fontenot, Albert Fontenot, Hamilton Fontenot, Raymond Fontenot, Lillie Bell Gradney, Allie Fontenot, Lonia Fontenot and Louella Lemond.
He is survived by: his wife Irma Guillory Fontenot; his sisters, Rose Broussard and Rina Arceneaux; his children, Cathy Fontenot Monterrosa and Kirk Fontenot (Teresa Heather Fontenot); his grandchildren, Erica Johnson (Nicholas Johnson), Hannah Fontenot, Kirk B. Fontenot and Christopher Monterrosa; and his great grandchildren, Maximiliano Johnson and Everly Fontenot.
