He was predeceased by: his brother Johnny Chavez. He is survived by: his parents, Roberto Chavez and Santos Chavez (Rodriguez); his children, Christopher Daniel Gonzalez, Rudy Lee Gonzalez, John Ray Chavez, Rudy Chavez, Jr., Christian Chavez, Diego Chavez, Emilio Chavez, Shelly Marie Gonzalez and Priscilla Chavez; and his sisters, Pat Alejos and Rosa Flores.
