He was predeceased by: his parents, Enrique Mesa and Nicanora G. Mesa; his sisters, Rafaela M, Zamora, Maria M and Juanita M. Flores; and his wife Olivia R. Mesa.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jose Luis Mesa and Dora Munguia; and his children, Mary Mesa, Tina Salas (Ray) and Jesse Mesa Jr. (Melody). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
