It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Butler of Rayburn, Texas, born in Lake Providence, Louisiana, who passed away on February 3, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John J. Butler of Oak Grove; her parents, D. Nelson Smith and Lula Mae Smith (Jones); her stepmother Vera Smith; her siblings, Malcolm A. Smith and Peggy Byergeon; and her daughter Judith B. Langford.
She is survived by: her son John P. "Johnny" Butler (Jackie) of Santa Fe, NM; her grandchildren, Christopher T. "Chris" Langford (Aimee Tavares) of Arlington, VA, Garrett J. "Gary" Langford (Amanda) of Mesquite, TX, Erika A. Butler of Albuquerque, NM and Brittney G. Blakley (David); and her great grandchildren, Cody Conder (Margaret) of Forth Worth, TX, Mason Langford of Arlington, VA, Thomas J. Langford of Mesquite, TX, Jordan and Taylor Blakey of Broken Arrow, OK. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
