He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Herod and Lillian Herod; and his brothers, Erman Herod, Dell Herod and John Herod.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kennedy; and his children, Diana (Jim McCullough), Steven (Lesa Herod) and Vicki (Michael Gloff).
