He was predeceased by: his father Emory Sims; and his siblings, James Dykes, Gerald Sims, Thomas Sims, Marnell Mangold and Margie Hasten.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Sims of Quitman; his children, William Sims, Jr. (Andrea) of Quitman and Katrina Burton (Tom) of Quitman; his sister Jessie Starrett of Carrolton; his grandchildren, Davey Williams, Allen Williams, Dawson Sims and Bethany Sims; and his great grandchildren, Kameron, Kinley, Peyton and Reagan.
