It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Donald Dobbs (Quitman, Texas), who passed away on September 2, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Donald Dobbs and Geraldine Dobbs (Williams); his wife Nita Dobbs (Weems); his children, David Dobbs (Michelle) of Quitman, Debbie Davis (Richard) of Flint and Darren Dobbs (Mindy) of Allen; his brothers, Bobby Dobbs (Denise) of Winnsboro and Danny Dobbs (Dawn) of Tyler; his grandchildren, Mandi Barron (Nathan), Austin Dobbs, Abby Dobbs, Brooke Davis, Luke Davis, Julia Dobbs, Caroline Dobbs and Rachel Dobbs; and his great grandchild Blythe James Barron.

“I will always remember the great times James and I had playing golf together at Holly Lake Ranch. We thought we were pretty good, too. I especially remember one time our foursome was twelve (12) strokes under, and we let it be known. James had the personality that you were his friend the minute you met him. His leadership as a Christian at Holly Brook Baptist Church was recognized with love. James will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Prayers to Nita and family. Chris & Jan Ferrell”
