He was predeceased by: his father Henry Clinton Harper; his brother Robert Earl Harper; and his granddaughter Bethany Lynn Bailey. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ann Casey; his daughters, Lana (Aaron Lewis) of Sulphur Springs and Debra Leann Harper of Quitman; his grandchildren, Aston, Hannah Chance, Izaak and Lindsey Chance; and his great grandchild BaeLynn Duff. He is also survived by niece and nephews, and many friends along with his church family.
