He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gowins and Thelma Lee Gowins; his wife Kathryn Gowins; his brother James Leroy Gowins; and his son-in-law Kris Doyle.
He is survived by: his daughter Marianna Doyle of Emory, Texas; his siblings, Ruth House of Dallas, Texas, Pryor Gowins of Emory and Allen Gowins; and his granddaughters, Amanda Siebenthaler (David) and Kaitlin Doyle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
