He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Matthew Unser Sr. and Ella Jean Huber Unser; his stepfather James Nelson; and his brothers-in-law, Delbert Baldwin, Roy White and Jesse Britton.
He is survived by: his spouse Jan Chapman; his stepsons, Randell Snody of Quinlan and Richard Snody of Quinlan; his granddaughter Haley Hobden (Jake) of Quinlan; his great grandchild Eloise Hobden; his brother-in-law Danny Chapman of Quinlan; and his sisters, Carolyn Baldwin of Gladewater, Donna White (Donald Hall) of Houston and Zelda Britton of Golden.
