It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernita Luckey Steger (Queen City, Texas), who passed away on October 1, 2018, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Augustus Steger, Jr; her parents, Oscar Luckey and Maxine Luckey; her children, Barree Steger, Carolyn Washington and Kimberly Blaylock; and her siblings, Marvin Luckey of Oscar, Theotis Luckey and Clara Oliver.
She is survived by: her children, John Steger (Sharon) of Douglassville and Antonia Gaston (Roderick) of Marietta; and her siblings, Willie Luckey (Velva Lee) of Marietta, Whalen Luckey (Linda) of Marietta and Callie Washington of Arlington. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
