He was predeceased by: his wife Lena Carnley; his parents, Mary Carnley Ashley and Gideon Carnley; his stepmother Clemie Carnley; his siblings, Warren, Robert, Hugh and Emma Bell; his son Fred Danny Burt; and his granddaughter Marissa Michelle Burt-Williams.

He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Gray of Queen City, Mary Jean (Pat Collins), John (Linda Carnley) and Vernon Carnley of Queen City; and his close friend Annie. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
